BREAST AUGMENTATION

Breast augmentation, also known as Augmentation Mammoplasty, is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to increase breast volume. It may be considered by women who feel their breasts are small, have lost volume after pregnancy or weight loss, or have naturally unequal breast size/ tuberous/conical breasts.

SURGERY EXPLAINED : The procedure involves placing silicone breast implants beneath the breast tissue or behind the chest muscle, depending on the individual’s anatomy. Implant choice is according to the patient’s body frame, existing breast volume and dimensions , chest width, skin quality and aesthetic goals. . Implants may be positioned under the breast tissue, partially or completely beneath the pectoral muscle, depending on the individual case. The incision may be placed in the under-breast crease or around the areola which is easily camouflaged owing to the discreet placement of incision.

AFTER SURGERY : Wear the recommended surgical/supportive bra as advised and keep arm movements gentle during the initial recovery period. Sleep on your back, preferably with your upper body slightly elevated.

Breast fat grafting uses your own body fat, usually harvested from areas such as the abdomen, thighs or flanks, and carefully transferred to the breasts. It is particularly suitable for women who prefer a natural approach without implants, although the amount of enhancement possible is limited compared with implants. Some of the transferred fat may naturally be reabsorbed over time. Sometimes silicon implants are combined with fat grafting for enhancing the cleavage.
